Trump’s Stargate or China’s DeepSeek — Who wins?
Trump’s Stargate Initiative — a HUGE $500 billion plan to pump up US Artificial Intelligence ecosystem. Sounds impressive, right? But then, DeepSeek, this scrappy Chinese AI lab, drops a bombshell: they built cutting-edge AI tools for cheap. Yes very cheap — DeepSeek has claimed it took just two months and cost under $6 million to build it’s AI model using Nvidia’s less-advanced H800 chips.
Suddenly, everyone’s asking the big questions
- Is Stargate just a big waste of money? DeepSeek proves you don’t need billions to innovate in AI.
- Who’s winning the AI race? The US wants to stay on top, but China’s coming up fast. Let’s see who wins for sure!
- What about the ethical stuff? Powerful AI needs careful handling — job losses, bias, misuse… it’s a minefield. Who cares?
- Will AI become more accessible? DeepSeek’s open-source model could level the playing field.
My thought
Stargate and DeepSeek are two very different paths to the same goal. It’s like the classic big-budget blockbuster vs. the capcut-made-content that takes the world by storm.
We’re in for an exciting ride, but we need to keep our eyes on the prize — making sure AI benefits everyone, not just the big players.
